What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Yesterday’s virtual quilts were a reminder of what summer has brought to parts of Australia this year. Today’s designs are the colour we hope to see around us in the not too distant future.

The star blocks are basic, but fiddly, piecing, and I like the faded blocks which add depth to the designs.

I design  all my quilts with 12 inch blocks in mind, but they can be made bigger or smaller, though with the details in these designs I would stick with 12 inch or larger blocks.

Nice, neat and tidy, with the sky getting darker the further from the centre.

The second one is much more interesting, and my favourite for today.

I like the colours in this series, green, green and green. It works because of the contrast.

I find it hard to pick a favourite between these two designs.

I find it a bit weird that most star blocks have a coloured star on a light background. There are very few stars seen during the daylight hours so I try to use dark backgrounds for star blocks.

I think I would need a lot more coffee to help me pick a favourite from this pair of designs.
